It is not clear how the various elements of the study were “weighted” but it appears The Precautionary Principal and the Stockholm Convention haven’t faired well in this assessment. The long-term impacts of POPs and PBTs resulting from the use of all respective materials seems to have received superficial consideration, at least from a reading of the executive summary. Some PBTs might not even demonstrate a population effect until fifty years or so have passed from their initial release to the environment.
